Arctic dance film Fram tours festivals worldwide
The dance film and documentary Fram is available for acquisition after its first successful year on the international film festival circuit.
The dance film and documentary Fram has completed its first year on the international festival circuit. After receiving its premiere at the 56th Golden Prague International Television Festival in the autumn of 2019, Fram has gone on to screenings at over 20 festivals around the world.
Fram (“Forward”) is a documentary and travel film about two friends journeying to the end of the earth, in order to make a dance film in the polar wilderness of Svalbard. En route, they explore the history of our ideas of the Arctic, along with the grand questions of life, art and our place in the world. Sharing their love of discovering new geographic and artistic frontiers, choreographer-dancer-filmmakers and outdoor enthusiasts Thomas Freundlich and Valtteri Raekallio take the viewer on an engaging journey to a place where few have been and even fewer have danced.
Fram is available for licensing from Lumikinos Production. The film has two length versions of 28 and 51 minutes.
A shorter dance-only spin-off version of Fram, titled No Man’s Land, is also available for acquisition. The 12-minute dance short is a condensation of the spectacular dance sequences from Fram, shot on location in Svalbard. No Man’s Land premiered at the 2020 Film Festival Vienna Rathausplatz.
