Anton Bruckner – A Giant in the Making
Avant Première 2020 Market Screening of Reiner Moritz' Bruckner Portrait “A Giant in the Making”.
Reiner Moritz' portrait of Anton Bruckner “A Giant in the Making” has now been completed and will be screened at the Avant Première 2020 Market Screenings in Berlin on Monday, 24 February from 15:10-16:10.
Using the opportunity of drawing on Gergiev's recording of the Bruckner Cycle with the Munich Philharmonic for Telmondis, contributions from the Florianer Sängerknaben, organists at St. Florian, Linz and the Vienna Court Chapel as well as the conductor of the Linzer Singakademie (formerly Bruckner's Liedertafel Frohsinn), we gain insights into the work of the composer. We visit his birthplace, hear about his teaching assignments, his triumphs as organist in France and England, his relationship with Wagner and the difficult times in Vienna, where he spent the latter part of his life.
Directed by Reiner E. Moritz. Produced by Monarda Arts and Poorhouse International for BR and ORF in association with Sky UK, Sky NZ, AMC, YLE and SVT.
