Accentus Music Wins German Record Critics’ Award
Günter Atteln’s acclaimed portrait of conductor Joana Mallwitz receives the German Record Critics’ Choice Quarterly Award.
We are delighted and proud that our DVD release of Günter Atteln’s film “Joana Mallwitz – Momentum” has been honored with the German Record Critics’ Choice Quarterly award in the Music Film category.
The jury statement reads: “Joana Mallwitz is a conductor of superlatives: opera conductor of the year, often the first woman at the podium, now working in Berlin. Günter Atteln had a keen eye when he was able to film decisive stages of her career over many years. The result is a powerful, realistic film – between private everyday organization, professional pressure, and musical passion. Mallwitz shows her demanding, analytical, emotional, and even fearful side. The result is an exciting and unusually open portrait of a highly musical, exceptional talent on her way to the top of the world.”
Many thanks to the German Record Critics’ Award jury for this recognition.
