A New Era at Opernhaus Zürich
0000: A personal season opening with Elīna Garanča and new Intendant Matthias Schulz in an intimate recital of romantic works.
On September 19, 2025, the new season of the Opernhaus Zürich will open with an extraordinary recital. The celebrated mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča and the new Intendant Matthias Schulz, who will be at the helm of the opera house from the 2025/26 season onwards, will transport the audience into a world of songs and arias with works by Mendelssohn, Berlioz, Brahms, Schumann, and other Romantic and late-Romantic composers.
The two musicians share a long-standing collaboration, and their recitals continue to delight audiences across Europe. This recital therefore promises to be a deeply personal and inspiring season opener at the Opernhaus Zürich.
