Opéra Comique: Hippolyte et Aricie
18 NOV 2020: Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie live from the Opéra Comique in Paris on Wednesday, 18 November.
Prince Hippolyte asks Queen Phèdre to help him woo the fair Aricie. But Phèdre wants Hippolyte for herself to be her consort and king. The 1757 version of Rameau’s opera is to be performed by the Pygmalion Ensemble on historical instruments conducted by Raphaël Pichon and with Reinoud van Mechelen, Elsa Benoit, Sylvie Brunet-Grupposo and Stéphane Degout in the lead roles.
