Another jewel has been added to fidelio’s versatile archive: Verdi’s Aida from the Salzburg Festival conducted by Riccardo Muti starring Anna Netrebko with the Vienna Philharmonic.

This Aida from 2017 has been critically acclaimed. Neue Zürcher Zeitung applauded Netrebko‘s "perfection and immaculate performance" and Der Standard praised Tenor Francesco Meli’s performance. FAZ called Ekaterina Semenchuk the "primadonna of mezzo-soprano" and spoke in the highest terms of her performance as Amneris. Director Shirin Neshat created an aesthetic masterpiece on stage using different forms of visual media such as video installations, sculptures and photography.
