Madrigal Magazine Launches Summer Issue
The current issue (no. 8) focuses on the way the Madrigal Choir brings Music Therapy into Bucharest hospitals.
The choir's latest magazine issue spotlights a new partnership that carries choral music beyond the concert hall and into hospital wards across the Romanian capital.
The new issue of MADRIGAL Magazine, Summer 2026 Edition (Issue 8), is dedicated to "Madrigal for Hospitals," an initiative bringing choral music closer to patients, their families, and medical staff. The National Chamber Choir "Madrigal – Marin Constantin" and the Bucharest Administration of Hospitals and Medical Services (ASSMB) signed the partnership agreement establishing an interdisciplinary model in which music becomes part of the care and recovery process.
In its first phase, the program reaches seven hospitals administered by the Bucharest City Hall through ASSMB. The partnership frames choral music as a complementary tool of emotional and psychological support for patients, families, and medical staff alike.
Beyond concert access for patients and staff, the program supports elderly-focused activities and expands "Madrigal for Babies," a research initiative using music therapy to support infants' harmonious development. The new magazine issue details these strands of the project in full.
It features themes such as “Madrigal for Hospitals”, “The Power of Music Therapy”, “Music and its Healing Effect”, “A Cultural Bridge between Romania and Pakistan”, and articles about the Recording of the National Pakistani Anthem (Quami Tarana) by the Madrigal Choir, the 2026 Percussion Ensembles Tour and the Romanian Atheneum, among others.
