Madrigal Choir: Two Productions This Fall

0000: The Madrigal Choir opens its autumn season with a sacred-music homecoming and a cross-continental journey along the Silk Road.

This autumn, the National Chamber Choir "Madrigal – Marin Constantin", conducted by Anna Ungureanu, brings two of its emblematic productions to Bucharest: Madrigal: Ave Maria and Madrigal: The Silk Road.

Madrigal: Ave Maria, 10 September | Special guest: Marius Manole. After a five-year hiatus, Ave Maria returns to Bucharest. The choir's sacred music meets texts performed by famous actor Marius Manole, in a performance bringing together voice, word, and the sonorities of organ and piano. A new directorial and stage-design vision, created by Emil Pantelimon, transforms the Aula Magna of the Politehnica University of Bucharest into a space for a profound, immersive experience.

Madrigal: The Silk Road, 3 October | Special guest: Rodica Mandache From East to West, The Silk Road arrives in Bucharest after encounters with audiences on two continents. The show had its premiere in the Astana Opera, in Kazakhstan, in 2025. Madrigal's voices meet poems drawn from the lyric traditions of countries along the legendary trade and cultural route, in a performance where music and poetry become a common language between worlds. Special guest Rodica Mandache, one of the greatest Romanian actresses, accompanies the audience on an imaginary journey along the Silk Road, from Eastern traditions to their encounter with the West.
