IMZ Academy 2026: Five Opera Films, Now Online to Watch
Five short operas, created at the Royal College of Music in London as part of the IMZ Academy 2026 workshop “Live Multi-Camera Directing of Opera Performances”, are now available to watch.
Directed by the participants of this year’s IMZ Academy, the productions are the result of an intensive programme combining artistic vision, live direction and the technical craft of bringing live opera to the screen.
Working with professional performers and production teams, participants had the opportunity to put their skills into practice and explore how the language of multi-camera directing can shape the experience of a live performance.
The IMZ Academy 2026, led by Peter Maniura, Rhodri Huw and Yvonne Craven, took place from 2–5 July at the Royal College of Music in London.
