DVD + Blu-Ray:
HAYDN: DIE SCHÖPFUNG / LA FURA DELS BAUS
The breath-taking multimedia production of Haydn’s oratorio Die Schöpfung staged by the worldwide known La Fura dels Baus and its director Carlus Padrissa.
Haydn’s oratorio Die Schöpfung is one of the greatest masterpieces in the repertoire. In this radical and compelling staging by the ground-breaking Catalan theatre collective, La Fura dels Baus, and its famouse director Carlus Padrissa, the oratorio is seen through the prism of a stream of refugees expelled from Paradise.
Conducted by Laurence Equilbey, the musical director of the Insula orchestra and accentus choir, who is acknowledged for her demanding, open-minded approach to the art, the production features critically acclaimed cast of performers: a Norwegian soprano Mari Eriksmoen, who’s ‘voice is a delight from start to finish’ (Le Monde), a leading Austrian baritone Daniel Schmutzhard, and an Austrian tenor Martin Mitterrutzner. Stunning light projections encapsulate the stage space and incorporated philosophical and scientific perspectives make this truly an oratorio for our time.
The releases feature bonus movie about the staging of the production: Replay: A behind-the-scenes documentary of The Creation by Marie Guilloux.
