CD + Blu-Ray:
A musical friendship
Violin concertos with Frank Peter Zimmermann and the Berliner Philharmoniker: Beethoven + Berg + Bartók.
Frank Peter Zimmermann is one of the long-standing artistic partners of the Berliner Philharmoniker, who always gives fresh impetus and offers exciting perspectives to their collaborations. His appearances create a common thread between generations of musicians. Hardly any of the conductors who have shaped the orchestra over the years have not worked with this exceptional violinist.
The new edition from Berliner Philharmoniker Recordings now presents four outstanding snapshots of this intense musical friendship with violin concertos by Ludwig van Beethoven, Alban Berg and Béla Bartók.
In addition to the recordings on two CDs and a Blu-ray, the high-quality hardcover edition contains an extensive booklet with essays, introductions and numerous photos. The design is by the German artist Jorinde Voigt.
