The FEDORA Digital Prize 2020 Nominees
The FEDORA Digital Prize is a collaboration between the IMZ and FEDORA. The 4 final nominees of 2020 can still be supported with a donation through the online Transnational Giving Europe Platform!
FEDORA - The European Circle of Philanthropists of Opera and Ballet has been supporting innovation and creativity in the fields of opera and ballet since 2014. Their Prizes Competition allows for investing in artistic projects that are still in the making.
The FEDORA Digital Prize is a collaboration between FEDORA and the IMZ. The 4 final nominees for this year’s Prize are:
“Munkination” by the Royal Opera House
This project is a call to action. Munkination is a recruitment tool for young people, using music as a way in, to inspire new thoughts and action on climate change. In HAM’s words: “There aren’t many stories by and for people like me, that forefront our heritage, and our perspective. At the heart of Munkination is the desire to connect to a generation of younger people, people like me, to engage and take ownership over our shared future.”
“Laila” by the Finnish National Opera and Ballet
Composer Esa-Pekka Salonen says about it: “We create a universe within which things can happen uniquely to you. Depending on what you say, depending on how you move within the space, depending on how you interact with other visitors.” Paula Vesala, dramaturge, adds: “If you should rebuild opera, you can’t rip it down more than we’ve done.”
“REBOOT” by the Sadler's Wells Theatre
Based on the true story of the youngest human to be cryogenized, a two year old girl, REBOOT questions our notions of life, death and the space in between.
“Stream&Music” by the Teatro Regio Torino
The interactive platform allows for discovering and sharing contents in a new way thanks to the elaboration of images influenced by sounds. The theatre wants to offer its audience an immersive performance, able to reach a target of people not only interested music, but in a total, engaging experience that involves them as co-creators.
FEDORA is pleased to introduce Europe's first online Transnational Giving Platform, facilitating philanthropy. Individuals and companies can donate to these projects while benefiting from tax deductions in their country of residence. Reimagine the future of opera and ballet through digital transformation!
