Strings and Soul with Rosie Frater-Taylor
0000: Rosie Frater-Taylor blends jazz, soul, and folk with dazzling guitar work and emotional depth in her new Featherweight session.
British singer-songwriter and guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor is rising fast on today’s music scene, earning acclaim as both a virtuoso guitarist and a vocalist of striking emotional depth. Following in the footsteps of artists like Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell, and Herbie Hancock, Rosie stands out as a singular voice, effortlessly weaving jazz sophistication with pop and folk sensibilities.
Qwest TV and Le Claque Studio have joined forces to bring you today's most iconic artists in a new series entitled Analogue, in which Rosie Frater-Taylor confirms her growing reputation from the very first track, the aptly titled “Heartbeat.” With a crisp rhythm section and a natural flair for storytelling, she moves seamlessly into “No Scrubs”, a refined reimagining of TLC’s iconic hit. Surrounded by the studio’s warm vintage atmosphere, her performance of “Give & Take” reveals both groove and grace, driven by a voice of remarkable maturity.
Three tracks from her new album Featherweight showcase her gift for blurring boundaries, between rock, alt-pop, neo-soul, new-school jazz, and folk. Inspired by Joni Mitchell, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, John Mayer, Meshell Ndegeocello, St. Vincent, and Madison Cunningham, Featherweight is a testament to Rosie’s emotional and musical maturity, a collection where intricate worlds of sound intertwine through her distinctive songwriting, guitar artistry, and voice.
