The San Francisco Dance Film Festival (SFDFF) invites international partners, presenters, and industry professionals to experience its Online Festival, an accessible digital showcase streaming worldwide from November 10–30, 2025. This curated online program extends SFDFF’s annual presentation of dance on film, offering audiences and collaborators a unique opportunity to engage with exceptional global works beyond the in-person event.

The 2025 Online Festival features four exclusive feature-length documentaries profiling influential dance artists and their creative processes:

THE ALCHEMIST’S DANCE: follows flamenco legend María Pagés as she transforms movement into meditation.

JUST DANCE THE STEPS: presents a deeply personal tribute to Dutch choreographer Hans van Manen.

THE BLACK PRINCE: traces the making of "Gustavia", a production of the Royal Swedish Ballet.

ULLATE: THE DANCE OF LIFE: reflects on Víctor Ullate’s revolutionary contributions to Spanish ballet.

Complementing the feature lineup are three short film programs, each highlighting emerging voices and innovative approaches to the intersection of movement and film. “Spotlight Shorts” celebrates genre-defying works that expand the possibilities of dance film. “Doc Shorts” captures stories of identity, resilience, and healing through movement. “Narrative Shorts” explores character-driven stories where dance and cinema merge seamlessly.

Accessible from anywhere in the world, the Online Festival extends SFDFF’s mission to share the beauty and diversity of dance through film.
