Sandra Nkaké and her powerful and charismatic voice and presence, has been awarded as Vocalist Artist of the Year at the 2024 Victoires du Jazz awards.

When she sings, Sandra Nkaké likes to tell stories. Assisted by Jî Drû, flautist and faithful sidekick, the artist creates for each project a gallery of colourful portraits and imaginary slices of life. She adds groovy loops, jazzy melodies and African or Brazilian influences to highlight the poetry of everyday life and assert the need for emancipation.
