IMZ Academy 2020: “The complete performer of the future – Embracing media skills in music education”
On 3 Dec, this online IMZ Academy will explore the relevance of media skills for the next generation of musicians. Supported by AEC – Association Européenne des Conservatoires and Music + Arts University of the City of Vienna. Early Bird Rates still available until 15 Oct!
COVID-19 has had a particularly significant impact on classical musicians. Suddenly, “digitally” has become almost the only way for artists to perform.
But what are the specific media skills beyond musical excellence that music students need to thrive in our ever-increasing digital world and how can these skills be trained by Conservatoires?
After last year’s successful first IMZ Academy Edition on this subject, this online IMZ Academy invites leading experts to explore how the music education of the future could integrate the media skills training into its syllabus to prepare students effectively for the challenges + opportunities presented by the digital world:
Peter Maniura, Freelance Director + Digital Strategist, IMZ Academy Director
Isabel Gondel, Pianist + Member of the AEC Student Working Group
Miranda Harmer, Chair of the Student Network at the Association of European Conservatoires
Henk van der Meulen, Principal at Royal Conservatoire of The Hague + Vice-chairman at University of the Arts The Hague
Marlon Titre, Head of the Classical Department at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague
Matt Parkin, Head of Digital at the Royal College of Music, London
Diana Salazar, Director of Programmes at the Royal College of Music, London
Yury Revich, Violinist
