For his first series of concerts as Chief Conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Italian maestro Daniele Gatti conducts the iconic Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection”, by Gustav Mahler. Over the last few years, Daniele Gatti has led the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in strong, spectacular performances of Mahler symphonies. They now turn their attention to the Second Symphony. The Dutch premiere was given by the Concertgebouw Orchestra on 26 October 1904 with the composer himself conducting.
