The television recording of Leoš Janáček's opera Osud (Fate) is a spectacular production showing a tragic love story with emotional music. The libretto shows strong autobiographical elements, inspired by specific characters, environments and situations from Janáček's life.

This production by the National Moravian-Silesian Theater is only the sixth production of this opera in the Czech Republic. While there are not any previous official records of the opera, in the last few years it has been increasingly gaining ground at eminent opera houses abroad.
