Avant “Avant Premiere”: Unitel's new catalogue
Unitel presents its MIPCOM 2022 line-up in a new Classical Music Premieres catalogue.
From two ballet productions to various specials, operas and concerts from all over Europe, Unitel's Classical Music Premieres catalogue leaves nothing to be desired:
The first ever recording of John Cranko’s “The Taming of the Shrew”, completes the cycle of all three John Cranko ballet classics with the Stuttgart Ballet.
Revisiting a classic of the Romantic repertoire, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo perform Jean-Christophe Maillot’s new interpretation of Léo Delibe’s “Coppélia”: “Coppél i.A.” - a reflection on the search for the ideal partner in a technologically advanced society.
Poulenc’s opera “La voix humaine”, as visualised by Emmy and Bafta winning director James Kent, offers an unprecedented cinematic interpretation of his masterpiece. As an hour-long dramatic one-off, it features only one performer, the character known as Elle. “Filmed in invasive close-up, the camera capturing every anguished thought, hers is a haunting, hyper-real performance. It makes for opera as it’s never usually imagined: an intimate, sensual, sotto voce one-on-one between singer and viewer” (The Telegraph).
More opera and concert performances from the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Semperoper Dresden, the Wiener Musikverein and other prestigious venues complete the catalogue.
