Aristo Sham in Seoul: Bach, Busoni & Brahms
0000: Pianist Aristo Sham, Gold Medallist of the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, explores musical connections across the centuries.
From the Seoul Arts Center, pianist Aristo Sham, Gold Medallist of the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, presents a programme exploring musical connections across the centuries. Busoni’s transcriptions of Bach, Brahms and Chopin open the recital, showing how a 20th-century modernist reshaped the classics. The second half turns to Brahms himself — from the private world of the Klavierstücke to the youthful sweep of the Sonata No. 1 in C major. A panoramic programme that showcases the virtuosity and artistry of a pianist on the cusp of a major career.
