Accentus Music @ Lucerne Festival 2018
Accentus Music will continue its series of productions at the Lucerne Festival with the LFO, Riccardo Chailly and a Ravel-only concert.
2018 marks the third year of Riccardo Chailly as the Music Director of the Lucerne Festival and also the 30th anniversay of his debut at the Lucerne Festival. On this occasion, Accentus Music in co-production with SRF and Arte is filming the concert on August 24th, 2018, that focuses exclusively on the music of Maurice Ravel.
Waltzes and wild revels, ecstasy and elegance – you will hear it all in this concert, even though only one composer is on the bill: Maurice Ravel. Yet Ravel is the magician of sounds par excellence, ushering us into musical worlds that are always fresh, full of changing colors, perfumes, and flavors.
In the summer of 2018, Riccardo Chailly and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra set the pulse with the three-quarter time of the waltz, presenting a pair of dances that reflect nostalgically on a world that has perished. They will also recount the ancient love story of Daphnis und Chloé before taking us to an ecstatic climax with the relentless rhythms of Boléro. Magnifique!
