The San Francisco Dance Film Festival presents the highly anticipated theatrical premiere of Waiting Places on 8 June at ODC Theater in San Francisco, California. This new narrative dance film from luminaries Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber features five individuals bound by the act of waiting — each for a different longing. Set against the sharp sounds of everyday life and bursts of solo piano, the film transforms a sparsely furnished room into a vivid exploration of time, desire, and connection.
Following the screening, join Smith and Schraiber for a live showing of a new work in process — raw, emotionally charged, and unforgettable. Stay after for a Q&A to hear directly from the artists about their process creating work for leading companies like Paris Opera Ballet, Ballet BC, and GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, and their upcoming collaborations on major films like Terrence Malick’s The Way of the Wind and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride.
