Dance goes digital. Choreographers are experimenting with VR and AR, creating dance films, streaming their performances with new camera perspectives. What was long the preserve of more potent producers has now reached a lower cost level. In Germany, a vital network of artists, producers and studios has emerged in which creatives tap into technologies and dare new artistic experiments.

With the tanz:digital programme of the German Dance Association (Dachverband Tanz Deutschland) we were also represented at the Avant Première this year! The Avant Première is the world's most important international trade fair for cultural TV and VOD content and presents the latest music and dance film productions for global broadcasting.

In pitches and try-out sessions, participants could get to know some of the tanz:digital projects and try out AR and VR uses.

In the tanz:digital programme, the German Dance Association (Dachverband Tanz Deutschland) has been funded digital dance projects for three years. A platform for the digital presentation is under development. Subscribe now for our newsletter at www.tanz-digital.de
