Accentus Music and the Opernhaus Zürich offer free streams within Switzerland of Accentus Music ballet and opera productions on the opera house's website.
Opera and ballet at home - Accentus Music and the Opernhaus Zürich offer the audience an opportunity to stay in touch in times of the Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing. Between March 27 and June 28, 2020, Accentus Music productions of opera and ballet performances are available to stream in Switzerland on the opera house's website free of charge. The productions feature stars such as Joyce DiDonato, Juan Diego Flórez, Piotr Beczala, Christian Gerhaher, Michael Volle, Saimir Pirgu, and many others. The streams - one production per weekend - are available every Friday from 6 pm until midnight on Sunday. At Easter and Whitsun, the streams will be available for the entire week.
The streams include three ballet choreographies by Christian Spuck: Giuseppe Verdi's “Messa da Requiem”, “Nutcracker and Mouse King” and “Romeo and Juliet”. Among the operas offered are Bellini's “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” with Joyce DiDonato, Alban Berg's “Wozzeck” with Christian Gerhaher in the title role, and Verdi's “Nabucco” with Michael Volle. The Opernhaus streams were opened with Lehár's “Das Land des Lächelns” with Piotr Beczala and Julia Kleiter.
