New Sounds & Talent at Brussels Jazz Festival
0000: New creations, top talent and renowned artists energize the Brussels Jazz Festival 2026 at Flagey, offering ten days of premieres and immersive jazz.
The Brussels Jazz Festival returns to Flagey from 15 to 24 January 2026, celebrating its eleventh edition with an inspiring mix of new creations, world premieres and a vibrant blend of rising talent and established names. Designed as a true listening journey, the festival ensures concerts never overlap, allowing audiences to enjoy every performance from first note to last. Artist-in-residence Wajdi Riahi takes centre stage with three contrasting projects: an all-star quartet featuring Seamus Blake, a deeply personal solo programme and Brass & Bow, an ambitious ensemble uniting his trio with cellists and trumpeter Jean-Paul Estiévenart.
The opening night sets the tone as Jakob Bro presents new work for Jazz Meets Symphonic together with Brussels Philharmonic and the Vlaams Radiokoor. Over ten days, Flagey welcomes an exciting wave of international voices: Helena Casella, Isaiah Collier, Milena Casado, Mu Quintet, Smag På Dig Selv and more. A standout moment arrives on 17 January, when Àbáse, corto.alto and Immortal Onion bring an evening of adventurous European jazz.
The closing weekend marks the joint eleventh anniversary of both the festival and the influential label International Anthem, featuring Tortoise, Tom Skinner, Ruth Goller and other artists who embody Chicago’s forward-looking spirit. With 25 concerts, premieres, collaborations and late-night DJ sets by InSein Radio and Mab’ish, the Brussels Jazz Festival 2026 promises a bold, immersive celebration of jazz in all its forms.
