Jean-Christophe Spinosi on the podium brings with the ensemble Matheus an ideal blend of clarity and pace to Rossini’s hilarious comedy.
Cecilia Bartoli is Isabella, the Italian girl who grounded in Algiers. She searches for her lost lover, Lindoro, sung by the captivating Edgardo Rocha. Ilda Abdrazakov is Mustafà, the Bey of Algiers, who keeps Lindoro prisoner and decides to make Isabella his wife - although he is already married to Elvira (Rebeca Olvera).
