London Symphony Orchestra: Inaugural Concert
Sir Antonio Pappano, chief conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra and Vilde Frang join forces for “a concerto performance to treasure” (bachtrack).
Sir Antonio Pappano inaugurates a new era for the London Symphony Orchestra. This opening night of the new season welcomes Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang in Elgar's Violin Concerto. The beautiful interpretation of the latter is "a performance to cherish" (bachtrack). The programme is completed by Holst's The Planets, which Pappano conducts with a blasting energy.
