Call for Submissions: 2026 SF Dance Film Festival
San Francisco Dance Film Festival Now Accepting Submissions for the 2026 Festival.
Now in its seventeenth year, the San Francisco Dance Film Festival (SFDFF) is a multi-day event showcasing the best in dance film from across the globe. SFDFF has become one of the most respected and influential dance film festivals worldwide and aims to champion art that stands out for its risk-taking and evocative qualities.
The 2026 Festival will take place in theaters and streaming in late fall, offering screenings, industry panels, live performances, and other opportunities for artists to interact. Selected films will be considered for independent jury awards.
SFDFF considers dance-based films of all lengths, genres/styles, dance forms, and budgets. Filmmakers, producers, and distributors are encouraged to submit within the following categories: Art/Experimental, Documentary, Screendance, Music Video, and Student.
Submissions are now open through 17 April; late deadline is 8 May. Selected filmmaker benefits include: a complimentary Festival Pass providing admission to programs and events during the festival; industry networking and discovery opportunities; opportunities for further exposure via the SFDFF touring reel; potential distribution opportunities via commercial partners like Marquee TV; opportunities to have your film highlighted on SFDFF’s social media channels (Instagram: 120k followers; Facebook: 33k followers); and more!
